TurfPlus Alabama, LLC (“TurfPlus”) is an athletic field company focused on providing our customers with prompt, quality service and is highly experienced and offers expert advice on how to improve and care for your athletic fields. With our vast knowledge and expertise, TurfPlus specializes in football field painting, including midfield logos, endzones and sponsor logos, as well as paint removal. In addition, TurfPlus also specializes in maintenance of synthetic sports fields and in turf care programs that will ensure safety, performance and protect and improve your facility investment.

TurfPlus is an athletic field turf management company based in Fairhope, Alabama that has provided baseball field turf management and groundskeeping services at Hank Aaron Stadium in Mobile, Alabama and football field painting for Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Alabama, for Cramton Bowl in Montgomery since 2013 and for Hancock Whitney Stadium on the campus of the University of South Alabama since 2019. Kevin Grimes, the owner of TurfPlus, has painted for nearly 70 regular season college football games, 20 college football bowl games and the last 10 Senior Bowl games. In addition, following the replacement of the field turf, TurfPlus was tasked with painting the field at Protective Stadium for the Inaugural Season of the USFL, which included the football gridiron consisting of lines, numbers, hashmarks, team boxes and media lines that were previously sewn in, and for the Birmingham Legion FC, many times converting the field from football to soccer and back to football in the same week. TurfPlus specializes in athletic field painting, including lines numbers and hashmarks, as well as midfield logos, endzones and sponsor logos as well as in the maintenance of synthetic sports fields and in turf care programs that will ensure safety, performance and protect and improve your facility investment.

Previously, to starting TurfPlus, Kevin spent six seasons in Minor League Baseball, specifically with the Southern League’s Mobile BayBears, as the Head Groundskeeper at Hank Aaron Stadium. During his tenure with the BayBears, Kevin was responsible for the playing surface at Hank Aaron Stadium which required daily interaction with the players and coaching and support staffs for both of the BayBears Major League affiliates, the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Los Angeles Angels. Kevin also spent several years as a small business owner on the Gulf Coast providing athletic field consulting and maintenance services to high schools and colleges from Panama City, Florida to Slidell, Louisiana.

Kevin is a native of the Alabama Gulf Coast, attending high school in Fairhope, Alabama where he excelled not only in the classroom but on the football and baseball fields as well. He continued his baseball career at the collegiate level on a baseball scholarship at the University of Alabama Birmingham before finishing his playing days at Spring Hill College, winning numerous awards. Before his career in Minor League Baseball, Kevin spent 20 years with telecommunications giant CenturyLink, most recently serving as the Government Affairs and State Regulatory Manager for the company’s operations in Alabama. Kevin and his wife Ashley currently reside in Montrose, Alabama.
